Consider/Approve Adoption of Board Policy #5.118-Background Investigations

Background Information:

The Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) has recommended Board Policy #5.118- Background Investigations. This policy will require criminal history background checks and fingerprinting of applicants for teaching positions and any other positions that require proximity to children in order to ensure the safety and welfare of students and staff.

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend adoption of Board Policy #5.118- Background Investigations on first reading.
